DJ style: “Emotional and energetic dance music.”

Best known for: “‘9PM (Till I Come)’.”

André Tanneberger, aka ATB, has had a year of two distinct, but equally rewarding, halves. Following the birth of his daughter in the Spring, the German DJ and producer took time away from touring to spend precious time with family, before returning to the studio from June to work on his upcoming album. It’s a balance he’s learned to honour throughout a more than two decade career, during which he’s graced the Top 100 DJs poll a staggering 21 times.

ATB’s release schedule might have slowed in 2023, but he’s still released two mighty tracks on Virgin Records in the past 12 months — ‘That Feeling’, featuring TRAVYP, and ‘Highs and Lows’, with Au/Ra and York. Both dreamlike trance anthems with bouncy percussion and uplifting vocals, the Freiberg-born artist shows he’s truly the master of blending “emotional and energetic dance music” in his productions. It’s not yet clear whether these singles will feature on ATB’s upcoming 2024 album — and first since 2017’s ‘neXt’ — but they’re a sign of the quality fans can expect. In November, the DJ is also jetting off on the US That Feeling tour, rounding out a year of special moments both in and out of the booth.

DJ style:“House / melodic / main stage.”

Best known for:“Tracks like ‘Electric Elephants’, ‘Wizard’ with Martin Garrix and my melodies.”

It’s been just over a decade since main stage mainstay and EDM maestro Jay Hardway burst onto the scene via his Martin Garrix collab ‘Registration Code’, a tune that set him on the path to becoming a regular headliner at legendary clubs and global events like Tomorrowland, Pacha and EDC New York, AMF, Mysteryland and Omnia Las Vegas.

Becoming a father last year has meant Hardway has been focusing on maintaining that all-important work/life balance: “In my personal life I made sure to spend a lot of time with my family and it’s been amazing being a father. I still love doing shows worldwide, but I’ve made sure to plan my tours in such a way that I’m not on the road 24/7.”

It’s an approach that’s clearly working as 2023 has seen the Dutch DJ/producer continue to deliver high-impact dancefloor gold, including his big Spinnin’ Records collab with Tujamo featuring Bay-C ‘Energy’,high-drama Emo-DM tear-jerkerLost Souls’with Jeffrey Sutorius on Revealed, and fresh vocal track ‘On Fire’ featuring Nadia Gattas on Rave Culture, with Hardway’s solo releases like ‘The Sound’ and ‘Red Alert’ all picking up strong DJ support too.
