Though there are a fair few who know Boy George primarily as the singer in seminal, soul-tinged pop outfit Culture Club, he’s also been notching up achievements as a DJ for well over two decades. 2014 saw him gain further success and found George arrive at a stage where he knows precisely what he wants to achieve behind the decks. “I’ve gone back to playing what I like, no compromise. The audience should not dictate the art-form. I like bass and vocals. Anyone who has a fear of melody is just limited technically… I’m genre-phobic — a tune is a tune is a tune.”
