Boris Brejcha has been all over the world this year on his Another Dimension tour, playing for super-sized crowds at NYC’s Brooklyn Mirage, Radius in Chicago and Barcelona’s Brunch Electronik Festival, plus stops in Denver, Stockholm, Vancouver, Istanbul, four dates in Mexico and more. “The tour has been going very well so far. It’s pretty special to be doing your own concerts,” Brejcha tells DJ Mag. “Every single show is something very special.”

Alongside those shows have been countless other dates, including a tour of Asia that he says was particularly special. “It was my first time there. At the beginning, I was very excited to see how it would go. But in the end, it was a complete success.”

Fans have been able to follow Brejcha via his hilarious Instagram tour diary videos, which follow him to gigs and give a peak at the man behind the famous Joker mask — including his love for McDonald’s Big Mac sauce, which he says is “unbeatable”! But for Brejcha, the biggest highlight was actually “my holiday at the beginning of the year. Not having any performances for four months is quite a privilege. I also need this time to concentrate fully on producing.”

Everything about 2024 was big and bold for Faustix. The Danish dance music lifer found a new sound over the course of the past year, where ropey and dramatic arpeggios dart in and out of brash techno kicks and every drop feels like barreling down a dopamine rollercoaster. Each release seemed to push the envelope further and further — from the soaring emotions of ‘Lead Me To Love You’ with vocalist Mougleta to ‘All My Friends Are Hot’, whose cheeky vocal flip (“All my friends are hot and only listen to techno”) was the perfect summer festival anthem. Add to that a teased remix of Belgian Stromae ‘Alors on danse’ and it’s clear that 2024 was, without a doubt, the year Faustix found a whole new groove.

While he’s certainly been busy in the studio, Faustix has also played everywhere — from 13,000 person raves in the middle of Copenhagen to gigs on the Faroe Islands. Faustix, in other words, hasn’t taken his foot off the gas for even a second. And, with each gig and release, he is testament to how much people still love pumping, hard-edged techno.
