Dom Dolla must be feeling like a million bucks. From entering the fold as a graphic designer, pumping out posters and merch as an independent business owner in his hometown, to emerging as one of Melbourne’s most successful exports, Dom’s rise remains a marvel to watch. In 2023, the Aussie star unlocked many milestone achievements: he graced the cover of DJ Mag North America, dropped a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, scored his first Grammy nomination, and built upon his diverse discography with some of his biggest dancefloor hits yet including ‘Eat Your Man’ with pop powerhouse Nelly Furtado and the disco-tinged ‘Saving Up’.
You’d think such a year would be hard to top, and yet here we are — Dom’s entry into the Top 100 DJs poll follows another action-packed period that saw the producer headline Coachella’s Sahara Tent and pack out high-profile destinations like Red Rocks Amphitheatre as well as Ushuaïa Ibiza, which hosted his largest European show of the summer. At the cornerstone of these high energy sets sat his swirling house heater ‘girl$’ — a 2024 tune so groovy it garnered remixes from across the dance music spectrum with names like Nala and Layton Giordani reworking fire. Dom, gotta say, you’re looking golden!
