From chilled keys and melodramatic breakdowns to those immediately infectious dancefloor grooves, Lucas & Steve have explored a wide range of electronic avenues over the past 13 years they’ve been working together. At times taking us into deeper and more driving progressive-leaning stuff, in other moments opting to create a more blissed out atmosphere with their productions, this variation has played out over the last 12 months through the breadth of tracks. Not least the difference between Spanish guitar-hued sunset roller, ‘Do It Again’, and the rave-y ‘Can’t Forget You’, although this barely scratches the surface of what’s been going on.
In August, ‘Zenless’ became one of the latest high-profile examples of dance music being used in the video game world, a collaboration between the pair, Tiësto, Silent Child and Sān-Z rounding off a busy summer of shows, with this year seeing the duo perform in their native Netherlands, North America, the UK and beyond. Despite that schedule, though, the friends still found time to make sure Steve’s baby room was beautifully decorated and build a brand new studio.
