Both in the studio and out on the road, 2024 has been busy for the Dutch producer and DJ, Maddix. On the road, he embarked on his Global Awakeningtour, which was so large he had to complete it in two legs. The worldwide tour took him to China and Malaysia, the US and Canada, Australia and New Zealand alongside extensive dates across Europe. Festival highlights included appearances at EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland and Parookaville. He also hosts a special All Day Rave event at home in The Netherlands for ADE.

Maddix’s music output this year has been just as steadfast. He released seven records in total, including a number of collaborations. On his own label, EXTATIC Records, he produced a hard edit of his track ‘My Gasoline’ with French DJ/producer Basswell. He also teamed up with the vocalists Ceres on ‘Adrenalina’ and Sarah De Warren on ‘Love Takes Over’. One of Maddix’s biggest projects this year was his collaborative rework of Da Hool’s 1997 rave classic ‘Meet Her At The Love Parade’ which saw him team up with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and the vocalist Kiki Solvej.

Faustix

Everything about 2024 was big and bold for Faustix. The Danish dance music lifer found a new sound over the course of the past year, where ropey and dramatic arpeggios dart in and out of brash techno kicks and every drop feels like barreling down a dopamine rollercoaster. Each release seemed to push the envelope further and further — from the soaring emotions of ‘Lead Me To Love You’ with vocalist Mougleta to ‘All My Friends Are Hot’, whose cheeky vocal flip (“All my friends are hot and only listen to techno”) was the perfect summer festival anthem. Add to that a teased remix of Belgian Stromae ‘Alors on danse’ and it’s clear that 2024 was, without a doubt, the year Faustix found a whole new groove.

While he’s certainly been busy in the studio, Faustix has also played everywhere — from 13,000 person raves in the middle of Copenhagen to gigs on the Faroe Islands. Faustix, in other words, hasn’t taken his foot off the gas for even a second. And, with each gig and release, he is testament to how much people still love pumping, hard-edged techno.
