FISHER

From:Australia

DJ style:Tech-house showman

Best known for:‘Losing It’.

Famous for his big time, party-friendly tech-house, Australia’s very own FISHER continued to deliver gnarly dancefloor-destroying jams in 2022, kicking off with the fat acid licks and Palmer Brown’s ’Can You Dance To My Beat’ vocals on his ‘Palm Beach Banga’. MERYLL’s distinctive vocals brought a classy edge to his futurist tech jam ‘Yeah The Girls’ and he also turned in a tasty rework of Bob Sinclar’s 2006 sleek ‘World Hold On’ featuring Steve Edwards’ vocals too. However, it’s been the laser-synthism, velcro-sticky vocal hooks and precision engineered breakdowns of his Shermanology collab ‘It’s A Killa’ that’s been making the big waves this year, picking up huge play numbers and plenty of DJ support.

FISHER split his summer between a globe-trotting festival schedule that included appearances at Electric Island Season Finale, North Coast Music Festival, Creamfields, Elements Festival, Panorama Festival, FEST Festival, and playing Hï Ibiza, ending his season there with a stunning closing-party all-night set.

After finishing just outside of the Top 100 in 2021, this year German DJ and producer Cuebrick breaks in for the first time this year. He now sits at the top table of global dance music after standout shows everywhere from Los Angeles to San Francisco, Singapore to Bangkok.

While releasing big tunes on labels like Spinnin Records, Armada and Ultra Music, he also works as a radio-host on bigFM’s nitroX show, which is the biggest radio platform for electronic music in Germany.

This year he has worked on a new sound which he says “can best be described as a fusion of different elements from genres such as techno, hard techno, and trance. Hard techno kicks are the foundation, with classic trance synthesizers.” It’s a sound that has seemingly connected with fans, who will be pleased to learn Cuebrick has signed a deal meaning “Smash the House will be the main home for my music for at least the next two years.”
